Dursley walking festival is being held from Thursday 5th October through to Sunday 8th October. This is the 6th Dursley walking festival which has grown in size from 9 walks in its first festival in 2012 to in excess of 25 walks this year.

The 2017 festival contains a variety of walks ranging from a 1 hour Health walk through to The Lantern Way Challenge of 14 miles. In between there is a large choice of walks including heritage walks in both Dursley and Cam, a chance to try Nordic walking, walking with Dursley Lions (a dog walk sponsored by Lovejoys pet foods and Dursley Pet Shop), Draw around Dursley (a leisurely walk around Dursley with stops to sketch various point of interest with guidance from walk leader), a bus walk (bring bus pass or money for bus fare) and many walks of varying distances and routes.

As well as the large range of walks we have more social activities with a quiz on the Friday night at Dursley Community Centre, a talk on Cam and the Winterbothams on the Saturday night and tea and cakes in the Methodist Church Hall on the Sunday afternoon, the social activities carry a small charge.

Programmes will be available from shops, Dursley library, Courtyard Clinic, Council offices, Band B’s, Dursley Heritage Centre and cafes throughout the area by the end of August. Some walks numbers are restricted and it is recommended that bookings are made early for those walks.
