Physiotherapy
What it is
Physiotherapy is about helping people of all ages achieve their maximum potential through movement and function. It is the treatment and prevention of pain, injury or disability through exercise, hands-on therapy, advice and education.
Common Conditions
Conditions commonly treated by Physiotherapists are back pain and neck pain including headaches, all joint injuries but commonly shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, hip, knee and ankle joints, muscular tears and strains, nerve injuries. We also have specialists providing rehabilitation post-operatively, for neurological, women’s health and chronic pain conditions.
What to expect
Experience tells us that no two pain sufferers are the same, there are common patterns but your particular presentation will be unique and the key to good care is thorough analysis. We will assess, diagnose and clinically reason your problem. You’ll be told what is wrong and what you need to do to get better. A treatment plan will be agreed and revisited to ensure you are making the progress we expect. Treatment is very much hands-on at Courtyard with a focus on all of you, not necessarily just the bit that is hurting.
Other services that can support your treatment
We adopt a teamwork approach at Courtyard. We have experts in a host of therapies and if needed, we will refer you on to these clinicians to support your care and get you properly well. If we don’t have access to the care you need in-house we will refer you to trusted consultants and therapists outside the clinic. All of these stages will be discussed and agreed, guided by us but revolving around you.
