The process for insurance claims
Normally, when arranging cover with your insurance company, you will be provided with an authorisation code and sometimes a statement of agreed number of treatments. It is important that you have this information to hand when you phone or come in to arrange your first appointment.
Once you have received an assessment, your therapist will send an initial report to the insurance company outlining their findings and, if not already agreed a recommendation for the number of treatments required.
They will also indicate the likely progress and eventual outcome of treatment. Further treatment can only be arranged after approval of this initial report. Once the agreed number of treatments has been completed, or sooner if you are fully recovered, your therapist will provide either a discharge report, or an interim report where they can request further treatment if necessary. This must again be approved by the insurance company.
There will often be an excess to pay, this is not usually taken as a lump sum but is broken down into smaller payments which are calculated as a proportion of the actual number of treatments you receive. You will either be contacted by your insurance company about this, or by us via a month end invoice. The normal process for receiving all other payment relating to your treatment is for us to invoice the insurance company directly. A few companies operate slightly differently and will require you to pay us up front then claim the money back. This should be explained to you by your insurance company when you first sign up for cover.
