Sports Massage

What it is

Sports massage is the manipulation of soft tissue to benefit a person engaged in regular physical activity. It assists in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue caused by repetitive activity. Sports massage is designed to release tension, reduce pain and restore range of movement.

Common Conditions

Sports massage is ideal to aid recovery from injury where muscle tension or spasm is a factor. It can also help to prevent injury, encouraging good muscle condition, balance and posture.

What to expect

Techniques used are a little more intense than in other forms of massage and include kneading, manipulation of muscles, joint mobilisation and stretching.
